Position Description: Adams State College is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor in Sport Management in the Department of Human Performance and Physical Education.  This is a full-time tenure-track position beginning in August, 2012.  Candidates should hold a doctoral or terminal degree in sport management or closely related field.  Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, both online and face-to-face, that may include economics of sport, sport law, ethics in sport management, sport facility & event management, sport psychology, foundations of HPPE, international perspectives of sport management, tests and measurements, introduction to research, administration of sport, sport marketing, and other courses as needed.  Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate and graduate students, completing service to the department, college, and discipline, and engaging in scholarly activity involving undergraduate and graduate students.  Previous academic experience including a record of scholarship is desirable.  Commitment to excellence in teaching is paramount.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in adapted physical activity and motor behavior; secondary teaching responsibilities may include other closely related courses offered within the department.  The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, including evenings, and possibly weekends.  The typical teaching load is 12 units per semester.  Faculty are also responsible for: student advisement; supervision of graduate research projects; maintaining an active program of scholarly research and publication; seeking grants and outside funding for research projects in adapted physical activity and/or motor behavior; service on department, college and university committees as appropriate.  The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and staff at the Center of Achievement through Adapted Physical Activity, and with other motor behavior faculty in the department.

Qualifications:  Required: Applicants must possess a doctorate in Kinesiology or closely related field of study.  ABD candidates will be considered but must have completed the doctorate degree before August 22, 2012. Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in dance, dance science, and in the Kinesiology major core curriculum. Teach departmental courses offered in the university General Education program. About the Position:  The Kinesiology and Physical Education Program of the Physical Education, Health and Recreation (PEHR) Department at Western Washington University is seeking one full-time tenure eligible Assistant Professor. 


Position Responsibilities:  The Department, the College and the University value teaching and expect each person hired to be an exemplary teacher (including use of effective strategies such as varied teaching formats, timely feedback, etc.); to be current in his/her discipline; to engage students actively in their own learning; to maintain high standards regarding course content; and to be available to students through regularly scheduled office hours in keeping with department policy.  Those hired are expected to participate in scholarly and/or creative activity, and perform career related service roles on and off campus.

It is also expected that the successful candidate be able to carry out the following responsibilities:

·         Undergraduate advising and supervision of field experience work

·         Advising graduate students including thesis preparation and supervision

·         Supervising graduate internships

·         Coordination of the sport psychology graduate program; the sport psychology graduate program is expected to admit at least four students every second year

Position: The Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Cross invites applications for a tenure-track position in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE). This is a 9-month academic year appointment at the the Assistant Professor rank. The position will begin August 27, 2012.

Responsibilities:
The individual will teach at the graduate (MS) level with an undergraduate assignment in PETE given each semester.  Assignments could be given in curriculum, methods, or assessment courses.  The individual will supervise student teachers each year.  There is an expectation for this individual to engage in scholarship and supervise student projects.  There will be some service and academic advising assigned each academic year.

Qualifications: Candidate must have earned a doctorate degree in PETE pedagogy and have two years of teaching experience.
