POSITION: Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a faculty member in physical education pedagogy at the assistant or associate professor level. The position is tenure track, with the possibly for tenure for outstanding candidates at the associate professor level.
Responsibilities:
Teach graduate courses, supervise graduate student research, and conduct a
focused program of research.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate
in physical education, kinesiology, or a related field and present evidence of
successful teaching experience and research accomplishments. Preference will be
given to those candidates whose research and scholarship extends the current
physical education scholarship at Teachers College.

Position: Tenure track Assistant Professor, Division of Kinesiology and Health,
College of Health Sciences, University of Wyoming, beginning August 2011.
Responsibilities:
SCHOLARSHIP – Develop a research program that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations; pursue funding for research; and direct graduate/undergraduate research projects.
TEACHING – Provide quality instruction in physical education methods, curriculum, assessment, and movement core classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
SERVICE – Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students; provide service to the division, college, university, state, and profession.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate with an emphasis in Physical Education Pedagogy;
evidence of scholarly productivity; and evidence of effective university
teaching. Preferred Teaching experience in P-12 physical education; knowledge
in the areas of early childhood/elementary physical education, physical
fitness/activity and dance education.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

Division: Administratively housed in the College of Health Sciences, the
Division of Kinesiology and Health has 12 full-time tenure-track faculty members
and two extended-term academic professionals. Faculty has consistently
maintained research grant and contract support from diverse agencies including NIH, U.S. Department of Education, WY Departments of Education and Health, and the American Heart Association. Two majors are offered at the undergraduate level leading to the B.S. degree, one in Kinesiology and Health Promotion, and one in Physical Education Teaching. At the graduate level, the M.S. degree (thesis and non-thesis) is offered in Kinesiology and Health. There are over 400 undergraduates and 40 graduates majoring in the programs offered.
