Faculty Position

Assistant/Associate Professor/Tenure Track

Adelphi University


Position Description: Social Issues in Sport, Exercise, and Physical Education with a Focus on Youth Development Adelphi University is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure track position at the assistant/associate professor level to teach courses in sociological dimensions of sport, exercise, and physical activity for students in Youth Development, Physical Education Pedagogy, Exercise Science and Sport Management programs at the Bachelor’s and Master’s Level.

Responibilities: Responsibilities include teaching multi-disciplinary social issues courses, conducting research and/or other forms of scholarship, program development and academic advising.


Qualifications:  Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sociology of Sport, or related field. Preferred candidates have experience in grant-writing, teaching, scholarship and/or research in Sport-Based Youth Development.
